Die Casters Pty Ltd: Kingsley-ware

Starting in 1926 Die Casters Pty. Ltd, was located at first in Richmond then by 1932 Collingwood, Victoria, producing machinery, ‘hardware body furnishings’ and windscreen wipers. They claimed to be the first to successfully mould cellulose acetate over metal cores for car and household fittings. During WW2 it was engaged in defence work. The firm became Die Casters Ltd in 1936. The firm made teledexes, probably from around 1940 onwards, spray irrigation, tubing,

By 1964 it was described as ‘manufacturers of die cast and plastic products, builders hardware and extruders of thermoplastics, film, steel, pipes and sections.’ It was by then a subsidiary of Australian Chemical Holdings Ltd. By 1957 they were producing “perma-glass” tumblers, canisters and “colorvision snack sets” in colours including “citrus yellow, almond green, charchol, melon and white rice.” They then operated from Collingwood and Donvale (from 1951) in Victoria, as well as  Allenby Gardens in South Australia.

                                        There is a simple DC mark on the bottom of the tumbler.
