Sellex were located in Surry Hills, NSW and owned by  Sellers Pty. Ltd., an aluminium and plastics manufacturer, from 1937 until 1954

Sellex canisters were advertised from 1940 through to 1954. However, during the years 1943 -1947, both Sellex canisters and tea-sets were not advertised. This was probably due to war-time material shortages, and /or factories changing over to the manufacture of military requirements during those years.

1940. There were set from the films of ‘Gulliver’s Travels’ in 1940, “The Blue Bird” in 1941, Mickey Mouse in 1941 and Goldylocks in 1950.

These style canisters date from 1940-54. Various labelling transfers were available .
