Nally Ltd: Royal Nally Ware, Nally

Nally Products Limited was started in Darlinghurst, NSW, in 1927 by an electrical engineer, Herbert Anthony Marshall to produce ‘Royal Nally Ware’ ( this name was used from 1928-37) from phenol resin sourced from England. The company was reborn as Nally Limited in 1930 after a period in liquidation.

 

Products
Radio parts. Cups and saucers, containers, plates, tea pots, ash trays, bowls, basins, jugs, vases, tumblers, sugar basins, egg cups, mugs, teasets (in flamingo, strawberry, tangerine, leaf brown, coal fire cherry and cream!), toys, souvenir mugs (e.g. coronation), Disney themed children’s sets, eye baths, canisters (c.1942-1970), spice sets, ‘Sunlander’ picnic sets, Nursery Set (baby bath, potty and nappy bucket). In 1984 they produced HDPE fish bins for the Thailand market.

Colours
White,yellow, brown, mottled, red, green. By 1941 blue, green, primrose, orange, harlequin and mottled. By 1953 ‘Fiesta Colours’ canisters were available in primrose and green or red, pale green and green, pastel blue and white. Around 1960 they were also available in pink or
‘daffodil’ with a black lid.

Dated 1937 and 1938.

Their canisters changed in style over the years. Below is an undated brochure, but porbably from the 1950s.
